A native of Savannah, Georgia, Stacy Wills has lived in Mississippi since 1985.  She and her husband Dan have three wonderful children, Stephen, Taylor and Chloe.  Stephen and his lovely wife, Kelly, make their home in Virginia and have three beautiful daughters, Tara, Paige and Molly.

A lover of music,  Stacy is also a  self-professed Internet junkie, and a bookworm. Her favorite reads are theology, spirituality and history.

Stacy is self-taught, and was inspired to draw mandalas by the writings of the psychologist Carl Jung, who saw these eastern artistic patterns as expressions of the unconscious self. Jung wrote that a mandala symbolizes "a safe refuge of inner reconciliation and wholeness." It is "the center; it is the expression of all life; it is the path of individuation."

Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning "circle."    The circle is a symbol of wholeness, completion, eternity and unity.  Mandalas can be found everywhere, in nature as well as in the art, architecture and religious traditions of cultures around the world and spanning the centuries.  Therapists and counselors have found mandalas helpful as a form of art

therapy, and use them in their work with patients by having them color or create them. A mandala can be used as an aid for prayer or the focal point for meditation. Though colorful, they have a calming effect because of their symmetry.  The human eye naturally seeks out  and  gravitates toward patterns.

Personal statement:
"I believe in the sacredness of life and the interconnectedness of all things, and creating mandalas is one way I express that belief.  Like people,  I see that each mandala is  a unique creation, and like people, each mandala is, in some sense,  the same.  It is our uniqueness as individuals  that enables us to  experience and appreciate our common humanity."
